Sino-American Logistics Conference was successfully held in China Council for Promotion of International Trade on July 18th and 19th. More than 200 repr-esentatives from the relevant government departments, logistics companies, research institutions, and logistics media from China, Canada and United States participated in this conference where experts discussed the hot issues concerning the Sino-American logistics industry.

This conference was organized by China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China Communication and Transportation Association (CCTA), American Society of Transportation and Logistics (ASTL), and The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL); and sponsored by DTW Group, COSCO Logistics Co. Ltd, China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd, Subida Logistics Co. Ltd, LOG56.com, and Schneider Logistics Inc.

This conference was the first large-scale and high-level dialogue between China and U.S. after Chinese logistics industry’s opening up. It was aimed at promoting cooperation in Sino-American logistics and transportation fields. Mr. Qian Yongchang, Chairman of CCTA; Mr. Wan Jifei, Chairman of CCPIT;
Mr. John Ficker, President of NITL; Mrs. Laurie Denham, Executive Director of ASTL spoke during the opening ceremony. Ana M. Guevara, Deputy Assistant Security for Services International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, and Wang Hongbo, Commercial Councilor for Department of American & Ocean Affairs, Ministry of Commerce of China delivered keynote speeches about Sino-American trade.

The conference was divided into ten sessions to discuss the hot topics, such as Current State and Development of China - US Logistics, Post-WTO Sino-American Logistics Cooperation Trends, Ocean Shipping, Ports and Customs, Hazardous Materials, Education & Training, etc. Each of those topics were discussed by the experts from China and American government, enterprises, and research institutions.
